Samsung Galaxy S9 / S9+ - Activate / Set Up Device

Here's how to quickly set up your Galaxy S9 / S9+.
To activate the device on prepaid service, refer to Set up Verizon Prepaid Service.
  1. If powered off, press and hold the
    Power button
     until the Samsung Galaxy S9 screen appears then release.
  2. Select the appropriate language then tap the
    right Arrow icon
    .

  3. To continue, review the 'Terms and Conditions' screen then tap Next.
    In order to tap Next, you must accept (check) all items.

  4. From the 'Phone Activation' screen, tap

    If prompted, enter the account PIN then follow the onscreen prompts (see Account PIN FAQs for additional info).
    If activating a new phone, ensure the old phone is powered off.

  5. From the 'Set up Wi-Fi' screen, select a network then enter the password.

     to add Wi-Fi networks after setup is complete.

  6. From the 'Copy apps and data' screen, select one of the following:
    If troubleshooting, don't restore the device until all testing has been completed.
    • Next
    • Don't copy

  7. Sign in to your existing Google™ account or create a new one.

  8. From the 'Google services' screen, select the preferred options to turn on Switch on icon or off Switch off icon then tap

  9. From the 'Protect your phone' screen, tap an option.

     to add a screen lock or set up Intelligent Scan, face, Iris or fingerprint recognition after setup is complete.

  11. From the 'Email setup' screen, select an email account type then enter your sign-in info.
