Here's how to connect your existing Galaxy Watch5 / Galaxy Watch5 Pro to a new phone.
  • The steps below only apply when you need to connect your existing Galaxy Watch5 / Galaxy Watch5 Pro to a new Android™ smartphone.
  • For first-time setup / activation of a new Galaxy Watch5 / Galaxy Watch5 Pro or replacement of an existing Samsung smartwatch, refer to one of the following:

From the Watch

From the Companion Device

  1. Open the
    Galaxy Wearable app
     on the new Android smartphone.
    If necessary, install the app.
  2. Tap
    Start
    .
  3. From the 'Pick your device' screen, tap 'Galaxy Watch5' or 'Galaxy Watch5 Pro'.
    If prompted, tap
    Allow
     to approve the necessary permissions.
  4. Ensure the passkey matches what's displayed on the Galaxy Watch5 / Galaxy Watch5 Pro then tap 'Pair' or 'Confirm' on the smartphone and the
    Checkmark icon
     on the watch.
    Allow a few minutes for pairing to complete.
  5. If using a non-Samsung Android smartphone to complete setup, tap
    OK
     then tap
    Install
     to allow the Galaxy Watch5 Plugin to install then return to the Galaxy Wearable app.
  6. If prompted, tap
    Sign in
     to complete the Samsung account setup.
    If you choose 'Skip', you can add a Samsung account after setup is complete.
  7. To continue, review the 'Samsung Terms and Conditions' and 'Samsung Privacy Notice' then tap
    Continue
    .
    If prompted, tap
    Allow
     to approve the necessary permissions.
  8. To continue, review (check) theGoogle™ Terms and conditions for each option then tap
    I agree
    .
    You can agree to all or some of the services; however, accepting all the services improves your experience on the Galaxy Watch5 / Galaxy Watch5 Pro.
    Options may vary by paired smartphone.
    • Stay connected over Wi-Fi or LTE with Google Cloud Sync
    • Usage and diagnostic reports

  9. If prompted to link your Google account, confirm the account is displayed then tap
    Next

  10. Enter your Google account password then tap
    SIGN IN
    .
  11. To restore your watch from a backup Samsung account, tap the preferred watch data to restore.
  12. If prompted to add Mobile service to your watch, perform one of the following:
    • Tap
      Skip
      .
    • Tap
      Next
       then follow on the on-screen instructions.
      To activate mobile service, an eSIM must be activated on your account.
