Samsung Galaxy Watch4 / Galaxy Watch4 Classic - Connect to New Phone

Here's how to connect your existing Galaxy Watch4 / Galaxy Watch4 Classic to a new phone.
  • The steps below only apply when you need to connect your existing Galaxy Watch4 / Galaxy Watch4 Classic to a new Android™ smartphone.
  • For first-time setup / activation of a new Galaxy Watch4 / Galaxy Watch4 Classic or replacement of an existing Samsung smartwatch, refer to one of the following:

From the Watch

From the Companion Device

  1. Open the
    Galaxy Wearable app
     on the new Android smartphone.
    If necessary, install the app.
  2. Tap
    Start
    .
  3. From the 'Pick your device' screen, tap 'Galaxy Watch4' or 'Galaxy Watch4 Classic'.
    If prompted, tap
    Allow
     to approve the necessary permissions.
  4. Ensure the passkey matches what's displayed on the Galaxy Watch4 Classic then tap 'Pair' or 'Confirm' on the smartphone and the
    Checkmark icon
     on the Galaxy Watch4.
    Allow a few minutes for pairing to complete.
  5. If using a non-Samsung Android smartphone to complete setup, tap
    OK
     then tap
    Install
     to allow the Galaxy Watch4 Plugin to install then return to the Galaxy Wearable app.
  6. If prompted, tap
    Sign in
     to complete the Samsung account setup.
    If you choose 'Skip', you can add a Samsung account after setup is complete.
  7. To continue, review the 'Samsung Terms and Conditions' and 'Samsung Privacy Notice' then tap
    Agree
    .
  8. If prompted, tap
    OK
     to link Galaxy Watch4 PlugIn.
  9. If prompted, tap
    Allow
     to grant the Galaxy Watch4 Plugin access to call, media, etc.
  10. To continue, review (check) the Google Terms and conditions for each option then tap
    Continue
    .
    You can agree to all or some of the services; however, accepting all the services improves your experience on the Galaxy Watch4 / Galaxy Watch4 Classic.

  11. If prompted to link your Google account, confirm the account is displayed then tap

  12. If prompted to Copy to your Google Account to your watch, tap
    Copy

  13. Enter you Google™ account password then tap
    SIGN IN
    .
  14. If prompted to add Mobile service to your watch, perform one of the following:
    • Tap
      Skip

      Next
       then follow on the on-screen instructions.
