motorola razr - Add eSIM Profile

Here's how to activate the eSIM in your razr using a QR code.
  • This phone comes with a pre-configured eSIM (embedded SIM) profile and doesn't require a physical SIM card. You'll need to obtain a new eSIM profile from Verizon if the preconfigured profile is deleted or disabled, or the phone is reset and eSIM profile data is lost.
  • Only one eSIM profile can be active at a time.
These steps may be necessary if you've moved your device to a different line or performed a factory data reset and eSIM data was lost.

Add eSIM Profile

  1. Ensure your phone is connected to Wi-Fi.
  2. From a Home screen, swipe up to access all apps.
  3. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Network & internet
    Mobile network
    .
If 'Mobile network' is grayed out, ensure the Airplane Mode switch is turned off.
If no eSIM profile is present, a 'Download your SIM' prompt appears.
If you already have an eSIM profile and want two phone numbers associated with the same device, tap the
    Add icon
Add icon (right of 'Mobile network') to add a second eSIM.
  4. Tap
    Next
    .
  5. Locate the QR code you received from Verizon and point the phone so the code displays in the window that appears on the display.
Do not exit the activation steps or use a separate QR code scanner, as the code will only work within the activation procedure.
If the message "Networks not activated" displays, you'll need to contact Verizon to generate a new eSIM profile.
  6. Tap
    Activate
    .
  7. From the 'Verizon is active' screen, tap
    Done
    .
Once the info is programmed into the device, you can begin using your service.
You may need to restart your phone after downloading eSIM info.

Pre-Software Update 2 Instructions

The steps above apply to devices running Software Update 2 (released 5/13/2020) and later. If your razr is running an older version and you're unable to update to the current version, perform the following steps to continue:
  1. Ensure your phone is connected to Wi-Fi.
  2. From a Home screen, swipe up to access all apps.
  3. Navigate:

    .
If no eSIM profile is present, a 'Download your SIM' prompt appears.
If you already have an eSIM profile and want two phone numbers associated with the same device, tap the

Add icon (right of 'Mobile network') to add a second eSIM.
  4. From the Mobile network screen, tap
