Sonim XP8 - Activate / Set Up Device

Here's how to quickly set up your Sonim XP8.

If you need to transfer contacts and media from one device to another, follow these step-by-step instructions before activating your new Sonim XP8.®

For info on prepaid service activation, refer to Set up Verizon Prepaid Service.

If powered off, press and hold the

Power button

until the Sonim logo appears then release.

Select the appropriate language then tap

Start

From the 'Phone Activation' screen, tap

If prompted, enter the account PIN then follow the on-screen prompts (see Account PIN FAQs for additional info).

If activating a new phone, ensure the old phone is powered off.

From the 'Connect to Wi-Fi' screen, select a network then enter the password.

to add Wi-Fi Networks after setup is complete.

From the 'Copy apps & data' screen, tap the preferred option.

If troubleshooting, don't restore the device until all testing has been completed.

From the 'Google Services' screen, select any of the displayed switches to turn on Switch on

then tap

From the 'Unlock with fingerprint' screen, tap

From the 'Set a screen lock' screen, enter a 4-digit PIN then tap

to add a screen lock after setup is complete.

From the 'Anything else?' screen, select the applicable option(s) or tap

From the 'Verizon Services' screen, turn any of the following on or off then tap
