Sonim XP8 - Add a Wi-Fi Network

Here's how to connect your Sonim XP8 to a Wi-Fi network.

Connect to an Available Wi-Fi Network

Wi-Fi network info is required to complete several steps. Refer to the network administrator for assistance.
  1. From the Home screen, swipe up to access the apps screen.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Network & Internet
    Wi-Fi
    .
  3. Ensure the Wi-Fi switch is turned on Switch on.
  4. Tap the preferred Wi-Fi network.
    If the preferred network is not listed, it can be added manually.
  5. If presented, enter the appropriate password then select
    Connect
    .
    To view the password as it is being entered, select (check)
    Show password
    .

Manually Connect to a Wi-Fi Network

Wi-Fi network info is required to complete several steps. Refer to the network administrator for assistance.
  1. From the Home screen, swipe up to access the apps screen.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Network & Internet
    Wi-Fi

  3. Ensure the Wi-Fi switch is turned on Switch on.
  4. Tap
    Add network
    .
  5. From the "Network SSID" field, enter the appropriate name.
  6. From the "Security" field, tap the
    Dropdown menu
     Drop down menu icon.
  7. Tap the appropriate security option:
    If using an Open network (None), skip to step 9.
    • None
    • WEP
    • WPA / WPA2 PSK
    • 802.1x EAP
  8. From the "Password" field, enter the appropriate password.
    To view the password as it is being entered, tap (check)
    Show password

  9. Ensure additional settings (e.g., EAP method, CA certificate, etc.) are configured appropriately (if applicable) then tap
    SAVE
    .
