Google Pixel 8 / 8 Pro - Set Up Fingerprint Recognition

Here's how to set up fingerprint recognition on your Pixel 8 / 8 Pro.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to display all apps.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Security & privacy
    Device unlock
    .
  3. Tap
    Face & Fingerprint Unlock
    .
  4. Enter the current PIN, password, or pattern.
  5. If presented, select a lock screen option (e.g., pattern, PIN, password) then follow the steps to complete the process.
    Refer to Enable / Disable / Modify Screen Lock for assistance.
  6. Tap
    Fingerprint Unlock
    .
  7. Review the message then tap
    I agree
    .
    May require scrolling.
  8. To continue tap
    Start
    .
  9. Using on-screen prompts as a guide, lightly tap the
    fingerprint sensor
     on the screen of your device multiple times to scan your fingerprint.
    Repeat this step until the process is complete.
    For greater accuracy, finger placement should vary slightly each time.
    For the fingerprint scanner to operate, hands must be clean and moisture-free.
  10. Tap 'Done' or tap 'Add another' to add additional fingerprints.
    Up to 5 fingerprints can be registered on the device.
