Samsung Galaxy Watch6 / Galaxy Watch6 Classic - Replace Existing Device

Here's how to activate your Galaxy Watch6 / Galaxy Watch6 Classic If you've recently replaced your watch or have reset the network settings.
  • The steps below only apply when a Samsung smartwatch has been replaced.
    If this Galaxy Watch6 / Galaxy Watch6 Pro is the first device to share this number and has never been active with Verizon service, refer to Activate / Set Up Device.
    If you're pairing an existing Samsung smartwatch with a new Android™ smartphone refer to Connect to New Phone.
  • The Galaxy Watch6 / Galaxy Watch6 Classic can be set up via Number Share.
    To set up with Number Share, the companion smartphone must be activated on the same Verizon account as the Galaxy Watch6 / Galaxy Watch6 Classic.
  • Before completing the steps below, verify:
  1. Ensure the replacement watch is charged and powered on.
    If necessary, tap the watch display to begin.
  2. Open the
    Galaxy Wearable app
     on the companion Android smartphone.
  3. If possible, back up the data on your original Galaxy Watch6 / Galaxy Watch6 Classic.
  4. Tap the
    Menu icon
     Menu icon (upper-left).
  5. Tap
    Add new device
    .
  6. From the 'Pick your device' screen, tap 'Galaxy Watch6' or 'Galaxy Watch6 Classic'.
    If prompted, tap
    Allow
     to approve the necessary permissions.
  7. Ensure the passkey matches what's displayed on the Galaxy Watch6 / Galaxy Watch6 Classic then tap 'Pair' or 'Confirm' on the smartphone and the
    Checkmark icon
     on the watch.
    If prompted, tap
    PAIR & CONNECT
     to connect your watch to your companion smartphone.
    Allow a few minutes for pairing to complete.
  8. Tap
    Sign in
     to complete the Samsung account setup and access more features (e.g., Samsung Health, Find My Watch, Find my Phone, etc.).
    Tap
    Skip
     to add a Samsung account after setup is complete.
  9. To continue, review the 'Samsung End User License Agreement' and 'Samsung Privacy Notice' then tap
    Continue
    .
    If prompted, tap
    Allow
     to approve the necessary permissions.
  10. If using a non-Samsung Android smartphone to complete the setup, tap
    Allow
     to grant Galaxy Watch6 Manager access to your watch.
  11. To continue, review (check) theGoogle™ Terms and conditions for each option then tap
    I agree
    .
    You can agree to all or some of the services; however, accepting all the services improves your experience on the Galaxy Watch6 / Galaxy Watch6 Classic.

  12. Tap
    Get automatic updates
     to download and install software updates when your watch is charging.
    If preferred, tap
    Update manually
     to choose when software updates are downloaded.
  13. If prompted to link your Google account, confirm the correct account is displayed then tap
    Next
    .
  14. Enter your Google account password then tap
    SIGN IN
    .
  15. If prompted to install Smart Switch, tap
    Install
     then open the app and tap
    Allow
     grant the required permissions.
    Tap the
    Allow switch
     to turn on Switch on icon the following permissions:
    • All files access
    • Install unknown apps
  16. To restore your watch from a backup Samsung account, tap the preferred watch data to restore.
    Restore is only available if a Backup has been stored.
  17. From the 'Set your wearing preferences' screen, tap
    Preferred wrist
     then select an option.
  18. Review the features of your watch (e.g, Emergency features, daily activity, sleep, heart rate, etc.) then tap
    Next
     after each one until set up is completed.
