Windows 11 - Create a Microsoft Account

Here's how to create a Microsoft account for your Windows 11 device.
  • If your device isn't running Windows® 11, refer to the Windows 10 instructions.
  • The following steps only apply if you signed in without a Microsoft® account during the initial setup of your device and don't have an existing account to use.
  • The first Microsoft account to sign in is designated as the owner of the device. Any subsequent accounts that are used to sign in won't have owner privileges (the ability to change or modify users, etc.).
  1. From the Windows desktop, navigate:
    Start Start menu icon
    Settings icon
    Accounts
     (left-panel).
  2. Tap or click
    Your info
    .
  3. From the 'Account settings' section, tap or click
    Sign in with a Microsoft account instead
    .
  4. From the 'Sign in' screen, tap or click
    Create one
    .
  5. Perform one of the following then tap or click
    Next
    .
    • Enter your existing email address.
    • Tap or click
      Get a new email address
      .
    • Tap or click
      Use a phone number instead
      .
  6. If presented, follow the remaining prompts to complete setup.
