Samsung Galaxy Z Flip3 5G - Activate / Set Up Device

Here's how to quickly activate and set up your Galaxy Z Flip3 5G.

For info on prepaid service activation, refer to Set up Verizon Prepaid Service.

Ensure a 5G SIM card is inserted into the device before powering on.

To avoid potential activation / service issues, don't insert a 4G SIM card.

5G devices purchased from Verizon include a pre-installed 5G SIM card.

Press and hold the

Power button

(on the right edge; below Volume buttons) until the Samsung Galaxy screen appears then release.

Select the appropriate language then tap

Start

To continue, review the 'Terms and Conditions' screen then tap

Agree

From the 'Phone Activation' screen, tap

If prompted, enter the account PIN then follow the onscreen prompts (see Account PIN FAQs for additional info).

If activating a new phone, ensure the old phone is powered off.

To set up your device using another phone or tablet, choose

Galaxy or Android device

iPhone or iPad

then follow the instructions.

Set up manually

to set up the device without using a different device.

From the 'Set up Wi-Fi' screen, select a network then enter the password.

to add Wi-Fi networks after setup is complete.

From the 'Copy apps & data' screen, select the preferred option:

Don't copy

If troubleshooting, don't restore the device until all testing has been completed.

to add your Google account after setup is complete.

From the 'Google Services' screen, select any of the following to turn on Switch on icon

or off

then tap

Use location

Allow scanning

Send usage and diagnostic data

From the 'Protect your phone' screen, tap an option.

to enable a screen lock or set up face or fingerprint recognition after setup is complete.

From the 'Access your Assistant with Hey Google' screen, tap

I agree

to set up the Google Assistant on your device.

Tap

to bypass this step.

From the 'Access your Assistant without...' screen, tap

I agree

to allow the assistant to respond when your phone is locked.

Tap

to bypass this step.

From the 'Verizon Services' screen, turn the following on or off then tap

From the 'Verizon Cloud' screen, review the info then tap

toset up Verizon Cloud after setup is complete.

From the 'Digital Secure' screen, tap

to change permissions after setup is complete.

From the 'Sign in to your Samsung account' screen, sign in to your existing account or create a new Samsung account.

to add a Samsung account after setup is complete.

From the 'Samsung services' screen, tap the applicable switch(es) to turn on or off then tap

Agree

If necessary, swipe up to review additional services.

From the 'Choose your display mode' screen, select the preferred mode (Light or Dark), then tap

From the 'Taking care of your phone' screen, read the info then tap

From the 'Setup Wizard is complete' screen, tap

Done
