Samsung Galaxy A51 - Activate / Set Up Device

Here's how to quickly set up your Galaxy A51.
If you need to transfer contacts and media from one device to another, follow these step-by-step instructions before activating your new Galaxy A51.
For info on prepaid service activation, refer to Set up Verizon Prepaid Service.
  1. If powered off, press and hold the
    Power button
     until the Samsung Galaxy A51 screen appears then release.
  2. Select the appropriate language then tap the

  3. To continue, review the 'Terms and Conditions' screen then tap

  4. From the 'Phone Activation' screen, tap
    Next
    .
    If prompted, enter the account PIN then follow the onscreen prompts (see Account PIN FAQs for additional info).
    If activating a new phone, ensure the old phone is powered off.

  5. From the 'Set up Wi-Fi' screen, select a network then enter the password.

     to add a Wi-Fi network after setup is complete.

  6. From the 'Copy apps & data' screen, select the preferred option:
    If troubleshooting, don't restore the device until all testing has been completed.

  7. Sign in to your existing Google™ account or create a new one.

     to add your Google account after setup is complete.

  8. From the 'Who will be using this device?' screen, select one of the following and then select

    • My child will be using this device
  9. From the 'Google Terms of Service' screen tap

  10. From the 'Google Services' screen, select any of the following to turn on Switch on icon or off Switch off icon then tap

    • Back up to Google Drive
    • Use location
    • Allow scanning
    • Send usage and diagnostic data

  11. From the 'Protect your phone' screen, tap an option.

     to add a screen lock or set up face or fingerprint recognition after setup is complete.

  12. From the 'Hey Google' screen, tap
    I agree
     to set up Voice Match.

     to bypass this step.

  13. From the ‘Access your Assistant without unlocking your device’ screen, tap

     to set up Google Assistant.

  14. From the 'Verizon Services' screen, turn the following on or off then tap
    Accept

  15. From the 'Verizon Cloud' screen, review the info then tap
    Accept

     to set up Verizon Cloud after setup is complete.

  16. From the 'Digital Secure' screen, review the info then tap

     to bypass this step.

  17. From the 'Sign in to your Samsung account' screen, sign in to your existing account or create a new Samsung account.

     to add a Samsung account after setup is complete.

  18. From the 'Samsung Services' screen, tap the applicable switch(es) to turn the available options on or off then tap

    Open My Verizon
     to set up the My Verizon app.
    Tap
    Done
     to exit the Setup Wizard and set up later.
