Samsung Galaxy A20 - Activate / Set Up Device

Here's how to quickly set up your Galaxy A20.
If you need to transfer contacts and media from one device to another, follow these step-by-step instructions before activating the new device.
For info on prepaid service activation, refer to Set up Verizon Prepaid Service.
  1. If powered off, press and hold the

     until the Samsung Galaxy A20 screen appears then release.

  2. Select the appropriate language then tap
    Start
    .
  3. To continue, select (check) the following then tap

     (lower-right):
    Review the info before continuing.
    • Terms and conditions
      Must be selected to continue.
    • Privacy Policy
      Must be selected to continue.
    • Send Diagnostic data (optional)
    • I have read and agree to all of the above.
  4. From the 'Phone Activation' screen, tap
    Next
    .
    If prompted, enter the account PIN then follow the onscreen prompts (see Account PIN FAQs for additional info).
    If activating a new phone, ensure the old phone is powered off.

  5. From the 'Set up Wi-Fi' screen, select a network then enter the password.

     to add Wi-Fi networks after setup is complete.
  6. From the 'Copy apps & data' screen, select the preferred option:
    If troubleshooting, don't restore the device until all testing has been completed.

    • Next

  7. Sign in to your existing Google™ account or create a new one then click

     to add your Google account after setup is complete.
  8. From the 'Keep your account updated...' screen, review the info then tap

     to bypass this step.
  9. From the 'Google services' screen, select any of the following to turn on Switch on or off Switch off then tap
    Accept
    .
    If necessary, tap

     to review additional services.

  10. From the 'Protect your phone' screen, tap an option.

    Skip
     to add a screen lock or set up face or fingerprint recognition after setup is complete.

  11. From the 'Verizon Services' screen, tap
    Accept

     to set up Verizon Cloud after setup is complete.
  13. From the 'Digital Secure' screen, review the info then tap Accept.

  14. From the 'Samsung account' screen, sign in to your existing account or create a new Samsung account.
