Samsung Galaxy Note9 - Activate / Set Up Device

Here's how to quickly set up your Galaxy Note9.
To activate the device on prepaid service, refer to Set up Verizon Prepaid Service.
  1. If powered off, press and hold the
    Power button
     until the 'Samsung Galaxy Note9' screen appears then release.
  2. Select the appropriate language then tap the
    Start arrow icon
    .

  3. To continue, review the 'Terms and Conditions' screen then tap

    .
    In order to continue, you must accept (check) the Terms and conditions and Privacy Policy.

  4. From the 'Phone activation' screen, tap
    Next
    .
    If prompted, enter the account PIN then follow the onscreen prompts (see Account PIN FAQs for additional info).
    If activating a new phone, ensure the old phone is powered off.

  5. From the 'Set up Wi-Fi' screen, select a network then enter the password.

     to add Wi-Fi networks after setup is complete.

  6. From the 'Copy apps & data' screen, tap
    Next
    .

    Don't copy
     to get a fresh start and set up your phone without copying your apps and data.
  7. Sign in to your existing Google™ account or create a new one.
    If troubleshooting, don't restore the device until all testing has been completed.
    If you tap

    , proceed to step 11 to continue with the setup. You can add your Google account after it's complete.

  8. Review the Terms of Service and Privacy Policy then tap

  9. From the 'Check out what's trending' screen, tap

  10. From the 'Google services' screen, select any of the following to turn on Switch on or off Switch off then tap

    Scroll to the bottom of this menu to see all options.
    • Back up to Google Drive
    • Use location
    • Allow scanning
    • Send usage and diagnostic data

  11. From the 'Protect your phone' screen, tap an option.

     to add a screen lock or set up face , iris or fingerprint recognition after setup is complete.

     to set up Verizon Cloud after setup is complete.

  13. From the 'Email setup' screen, select an email account type then enter your sign-in info.

     to add an email account after setup is complete.

    Accept

     to bypass this step.
  15. From the 'Sign in to your Samsung account' screen, sign in to your existing account or create a new Samsung account.
