Samsung Galaxy J3 V / Galaxy J3 (3rd Gen.) - Activate / Set Up Device

Here's how to set up your Galaxy J3 V / Galaxy J3 for use.
To activate the device on prepaid service, refer to Set up Verizon Prepaid Service.
  1. If powered off, press and hold the
    Power button
     (located on the right side of the phone) until the 'Samsung Galaxy J3 V' screen appears then release.
  2. Select the appropriate language then tap the
    Start icon
    .

  3. To continue, review the 'Terms and Conditions' screen then tap

  4. If presented with the 'Phone Activation' screen, tap
    NEXT
    .
    If prompted, enter the account PIN then follow the onscreen prompts (see Account PIN FAQs for additional info).
    If activating a new phone, ensure the old phone is powered off.

  5. From the 'Bring your old data for quicker setup' screen, select the preferred option then tap

    If troubleshooting, don't restore the device until all testing has been completed.

  6. From the 'Set up Wi-Fi' screen, select a network then enter the password.

     to add a Wi-Fi network after setup is complete.

  7. Sign in to your existing Google™ account or create a new one.

  8. From the 'Protect your phone' screen, tap an option.

  9. From the 'Google services screen', select any of the following to turn on Switch on or off Switch off then tap
    ACCEPT
     (scroll to the bottom):
    • Help apps find location
    • Improve location accuracy
    • Send system data

  10. From the 'Verizon Cloud' screen, tap
    NEXT
    .

    Skip
     to Verizon Cloud after setup is complete.

  11. From the 'Email setup' screen, select an email account type then enter your sign-in info.

     to add an email account after setup is complete.

  12. From the 'Security & Privacy' screen, tap
    Accept
    .
    Tap
    Skip
     to bypass this step.
  13. From the 'Ready to go!' screen, tap
    Open My Verizon
     to set up the My Verizon app.
    Tap
    Done
     to exit the Setup Wizard and set up the My Verizon app later.
