Here's how to set up facial recognition to unlock your Samsung Galaxy S8 / S8+.
- Facial recognition is utilized to unlock the device.
- For optimal performance, ensure you are indoors or away from direct sunlight.
- If synced to a corporate exchange account, the availability of this option is dependant upon the policies of your IT admin.
- From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.These instructions apply to Standard mode and the default Home screen layout.
- Navigate:.SettingsBiometrics and security
- TapFace Recognition.If presented, enter the current PIN, password, or pattern.If necessary, refer to Set Up Screen Lock for assistance
- Do one of the following:
- For first time setup:
- TapContinue.
- Review the info then tapContinue.
- While holding the phone 8-20 inches away, position your face within the square displayed on-screen.
- From the Useful face recognition features screen, tap switches to turn on
or off
then tap
OK.
- To remove face data:
- TapRemove face data.
- To confirm, tapRemove.
