Apple Watch - Enable / Disable / Modify Screen Lock

Here's how to set up, change or disable the screen lock option (e.g., passcode, pattern, etc.) for your Apple Watch.
The steps below apply to the Apple Watch Series® 3 and newer models.
  1. From the Watch face screen, press the
    Digital Crown
     to access the Apps screen.
    Setting up a passcode can also be completed during the initial setup.

  2. Tap
    Settings icon Settings icon

  3. Tap
    Passcode
    .
  4. Do one of the following:
    • Set up screen lock:
      1. Tap
        Turn Passcode On
        .
      2. Enter a 4-digit passcode then re-enter to confirm.
      3. Tap the
        Wrist Detection
         switch turn on Switch on icon or Switch off icon off.
        Phone locks if the wrist is not detected (when not being worn) to keep personal info safe.
    • Disable screen lock:
      1. Tap
        Passcode
         then tap
        Turn Passcode Off
        .
      2. Tap
        Turn Off
         then enter your current passcode.
    • Change passcode:
      1. Tap
        Change Passcode
        .
      2. Enter your current passcode then enter the new one.
      3. To confirm, re-enter your new passcode.
