Here's how to adjust Gmail sync settings for your Galaxy Note8.
Frequent account syncing can reduce battery life.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up or down from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
    These instructions only apply to Standard mode and the default Home screen layout.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Accounts and backup
    Accounts
    .
  3. Select the appropriate Gmail address.
    Multiple accounts may appear.
  4. Tap
    Sync account
    .
  5. Select the appropriate data sync options (e.g., Sync Contacts, Sync Gmail, etc.) to turn on Switch on or off Switch off.
  6. To perform a manual sync:
    1. Tap the
      Menu icon
       Menu icon (upper-right)
    2. Tap
      Sync now
