Samsung Galaxy S8 / S8+ - Perform a Gmail™ Sync

Here's how to sync your Google email, contacts, calendar, etc. on your Samsung Galaxy S8 / S8+.
Frequent account syncing can reduce battery life.
  1. From a Home screen, touch and swipe up or down to display all apps.
    These instructions apply to Standard mode and the default Home screen layout.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Accounts and backup Accounts icon
    Accounts
    .
  3. Select the appropriate Google account.
    Multiple accounts may appear.
  4. Tap
    Sync account
    .
  5. Tap the appropriate data synchronization options (e.g. Sync Contacts, Sync Gmail, Sync Calendar, etc.) to turn sync on Switch on or off Switch off.
  6. To perform a manual synchronization, tap the
    Menu icon
     Menu icon (upper-right) then tap
    Sync now
