Apple iPad - Record and Send Video via Messaging

Here's how to record and send a video on your iPad via the Messages app.

The following steps also apply to sending via iMessage. When a message is sent, the message type is indicated by different colors.

To send a picture that you've already taken, refer to Send an Existing Video via Messaging.

From a Home screen on your Apple® iPad®, tap

Messages

Tap the

New Message icon

(upper-left).

From the 'To' field, enter a 10-digit mobile number.

Alternatively, enter a contact name. As the name is entered, a matching contact may appear and can be selected at any time.

Repeat this step as necessary to add additional recipients.

From the 'Text Message' or 'iMessage' field, enter a message.

If necessary, tap the

Add icon

(lower-left) then tap the

Camera icon

(on the left).

From the camera mode options located along the right side, swipe down to choose VIDEO.

Aim then tap the

Record icon

to begin recording.

Alternatively, press either volume button located on the left edge of the device.

When finished, tap the

Stop icon

to discontinue recording.

Tap

Done

(upper-right).

To discard and record a new video, tap

Retake

then repeat step 9.

Tap the

Send icon

The Send icon appears green when sending a text message and blue when using iMessage.
