Verizon Cloud - Verify / Resolve Duplicate Contacts

Here's how to fix common issues that can cause duplicates in your contact list.
If you have duplicates in your contact list, view this info. For issues with your device, visit our Troubleshooting Assistant.
Sometimes, duplicate contacts occur due to the method of entry or based on your device's backup settings.
  1. Verify that the duplicate isn't caused by having multiple entries for the same contact.
If a contact has one listing for an email address and another for a phone number, the duplicates can be easily fixed by merging them.
  2. Ensure there are no special characters ($, #, %, *, etc.) in the contact listing.
The Verizon Cloud app may not recognize special characters triggering it to create a duplicate each time a sync takes place.
  3. Check to see if you're backing up your phone info to multiple sources.
If you're an iOS user and you have both Verizon Cloud and iCloud backing up your info, duplicates may result.
