Activate / Set Up Device - Samsung Galaxy J3 V
Here's how to complete a quick setup for your Galaxy J3 V.
If you need to transfer contacts and media from one device to another, follow these step-by-step instructions before activating the new device.
- Accounts (e.g., Gmail, email, etc.) should be set up after activating the device (see Related Info section at the bottom of this page).
- To activate the device on prepaid service, refer to Set up Verizon Prepaid Service.
- Wi-Fi Calling settings don't transfer after switching devices and/or performing a factory data reset.
- If powered off, press and hold thePower button(right edge) until the Samsung logo appears then release.
- Tap the appropriate language then tapNEXT(lower-right).
- From the Phone Activation screen, tap Next or tap Activate Now (if available).If prompted, enter the last 4 digits of the Account Owner's Social Security Number or the Billing Password.If activating a new phone, ensure the old phone is powered off and allow several minutes for the deactivation of the old phone to complete.
- If presented, from the "Verify your account" screen, sign in with a Google Account that was previously synced on the device.
- From the Add your account (Google) screen, navigate:
- From the Name screen, enter the first and last names then tapNEXT.
- From the "Protect your phone" screen, tap (uncheck)Protect this devicethen tap .
- From the Google services screen, tap any of the following services to enable or disable then tapNEXT.Enabled when a checkmark is present.
- Help apps find your location
- Improve location accuracy
- Help improve your Android experience
- From the Verizon Cloud screen, tapSKIPthen tapNOT NOW.To add Verizon Cloud after initial setup, from a Home screen navigate: .

- From the Setup Wizard summary screen, tapDONE(lower-right).
