Apple Watch - Install Device Software Updates

Here's how to check for and install software updates on your Apple Watch.

Check for Software Updates from the Watch

  1. From the Watch face screen, press the
    Digital Crown
     to access the Apps screen.

  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings
    General
    Software Update
    .
    Apple Watch® must be connected to Wi-Fi to download and install updates.
  3. Tap
    Download and Install
    .
  4. Tap
    Proceed
    .
    If prompted, enter your passcode.
  5. Tap
    Install
    .

Check for Software Updates from the iPhone

  1. From your iPhone, open the
    Watch app
     .
  2. Tap the
    My Watch tab
    (lower-left).
  3. Navigate:
    General
    Software Update
    .
    Apple Watch® must be connected to Wi-Fi to download and install updates.
  4. Tap
    Download and Install
    .
    If prompted, enter your passcode on your watch.
  5. Tap
    Install
