Here's how to edit how your name displays on someone else's Caller ID via the My Verizon website or app.
Share Name ID changes or updates can't be completed if you currently have another account change pending.
  • Verizon can't guarantee the Share Name ID displays on all outgoing calls because:
    • Other carriers may not support it.
    • If the phone number is already programmed into the call recipient's phone with a name, Share Name ID can't override that name to display what was programmed on My Verizon.
  • Share Name ID info displays when calling another carrier that is using the service.
    If the Share Name ID isn't showing up correctly after an update request has been completed, the person receiving the call may need to contact their service provider for support.
  • Share Name ID can only be managed by the Account Owner or Account Manager lines.

Configure from a Computer

  1. From a web browser, sign in to My Verizon.
  2. From the My Verizon Home page, click
    Manage device
     below the appropriate mobile number.
    If necessary, click
    Manage all devices
     then click
    Manage
     below the appropriate mobile number.
  3. Scroll down to the 'Settings & Preferences' section then click
    Share Name ID
    .
  4. Select the appropriate line you want to manage.
  5. Select an option to appear when the call is placed then click
    Save changes

    The request can take up to 24 hours to process.
    • Custom
      : Enter a name (up to 15 characters).
    • Billing Party Name
      : The name on the Verizon account for that mobile number is displayed.
    • WIRELESS CALLER
      : Displays the 10-digit mobile number.

Configure from the My Verizon App

  1. Open the
    My Verizon app
     .
  2. Tap the
    Account tab
     (at the bottom).
    If prompted, enter your password, fingerprint or Face ID
  3. From the 'Devices' section, tap the appropriate mobile number.
    If necessary, tap
    Manage all devices
     then tap
    Manage
     below the appropriate mobile number.
  4. From the 'Settings & Preferences' section, tap
    Share Name ID
    .
  5. Edit the name then tap (check)
    I accept the Terms and Conditions
    .
  6. Tap
    Update
    .

Configure from the Call Filter App

  1. Open the
    Call Filter app
     Call Filter icon.
  2. Tap
    Account
     (lower-right).
  3. Tap
    Edit profile
    .
  4. Tap
    Edit
     (next to the profile name).
  5. Enter the preferred name.
    If you'd rather display your phone number instead of your name, select
    Don't show a name
    .
  6. Tap
    Save
    .
