Google Pixel 8 / 8 Pro - Reset App
Here's how to reset apps if your Pixel 8 / 8 Pro crashes, resets or freezes.
If your device crashes, resets itself or freezes, it may be caused by apps and this info may help.
Personal data such as browser bookmarks and other customized app settings can be backed up to Google's servers.
Reset Individual App
This option resets app preferences and deletes all data for a single app.
- From a Home screen, swipe up to display all apps.
- Navigate:.SettingsApps
- TapSee all 'xx' apps.
- Locate then select the appropriate app.If system apps aren't visible, tap theMenu icon
(upper-right) then tap
Show system.If troubleshooting for Voicemail, tap thePhone appthen follow steps 5-9. Once reset, you must activate Voicemail.
- TapForce stop.
- TapOK.
- TapStorage & cache.
- TapClear storage.This option may not be available for some apps.Resetting an app doesn't remove saved items on the device (e.g., texts, pictures, voicemails, etc.); however, saved passwords for Wi-Fi, settings, backgrounds, etc. within the app itself may be reset.
- TapDelete.
Reset All App Preferences
This option resets all preferences for the following and app data isn't affected:
- Disabled apps
- Disabled app notifications
- Default apps for actions
- Background data restrictions for apps
- Any permission restrictions
- From a Home screen, swipe up to display all apps.
- Navigate:.SettingsApps
- TapSee all 'xx' apps.
- Tap theMenu icon
- TapReset app preferences.
- TapReset apps.
