Here's how to link or unlink duplicate contacts in your Pixel 8 / 8 Pro.
  • The Contacts app uses an intelligent merge feature to combine contact info from various sources (Gmail™, Facebook®, etc.).
  • To correct contact info joined in error, you can edit, delete, or undo changes to contacts.

Link Contacts

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to display all apps.
  2. Tap
    Contacts
     Contacts icon.
  3. Touch and hold the first contact then select other contacts to be linked.
    Selected when a checkmark is present.
  4. Tap the
    Menu icon
     Menu icon (upper-right).
  5. Tap
    Merge
    .

Undo Changes to Contacts

Contacts permanently deleted from Trash can't be recovered.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to display all apps.
  2. Tap
    Contacts
     Contacts icon.
  3. Tap the
    Switch account icon
     switch account icon (upper-right) then tap
    Contacts settings
    .
  4. From Manage Contacts section, tap
    Undo changes
     then select an option:
    Option selected reverts all contacts changed within that timeframe.

    • Yesterday
    • 1 week ago
    • Custom
      Set Days, Hours, or Minutes up to 30 days in the past.
  5. Tap
    Confirm
     then tap
    OK
