Digital Secure App - Set Up a Virtual Private Network

Here's how to set up your secure virtual private network (VPN) and stay protected on public Wi-Fi via the Digital Secure app.

Secure VPN isn't compatible with Mac® computers.

Enable Secure VPN

Open the Digital Secure app.

From the Dashboard tab, scroll down to ‘This Wi-Fi connection isn’t secure’ then tap

Set up VPN

Alternatively, from the Services tab, locate then tap

Secure VPN

From the 'Digital Secure would like to add VPN configuration' prompt, tap

Allow

To schedule when to turn on Secure VPN, navigate:

then choose one of the following:

Only on Wi-Fi with weak security. (Recommended)

Whenever I’m on Wi-Fi

I’ll turn it on when I need it

Tap the

Back icon

(upper-left).

Tap

Notifications

From the 'Customize VPN permissions' screen, tap the switch to the right of the corresponding app to turn notifications on On switch icon

or off

Tap

Save

(at the bottom).

Open the Digital Secure app on your mobile device.

If you only have a non-Verizon device on your account, go to your Digital Secure dashboard and follow the onscreen prompts.

Tap

Protect More Devices

Enter an email address that you can access on the computer you want to protect.

Open the Protect More Devices email on the computer you want to protect.

Click

Protect me

under Security for Windows.

Click

Download

under Secure VPN.

After the download is finished, locate then open the installation file.

Follow the onscreen installation instructions to finish installing Secure VPN.
