Samsung Galaxy Tab S9+ 5G - Enable / Disable / Modify Screen Lock

Here's how to set up, change or disable the screen lock option (e.g., password, pattern, etc.) for your Galaxy Tab S9+ 5G.
  • If using Microsoft® Exchange / Corporate sync, some screen lock options may be unavailable.
  • These steps can also be utilized to change your current screen lock setting.

Pattern

An unlock pattern is created to access the device.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Lock screen
    .
  3. Tap
    Screen lock type
    .
    If presented, enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
  4. Draw an unlock pattern (connecting at least 4 dots) then tap
    Continue
    .
  5. Draw the same pattern again then tap
    Confirm
    .
  6. Tap the
    Lock screen notifications switch
     to turn on Switch on or off Switch off.
  7. Tap
    Hide content
     to turn on or off.
  8. Tap
    Notifications to show
     then select the preferred option (Alert and silent notifications, Alert notifications only).
  9. Tap the
    Back icon
     Back icon (upper-left) to return to the previous screen.
  10. If prompted to back up your pattern, tap 'Agree' or 'Cancel'.

PIN

A PIN is created to access the device.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Lock screen
    .
  3. Tap
    Screen lock type
    .
    If presented, enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
  4. Enter a numeric PIN (4 to 16 digits) then tap
    Continue
    .
  5. Re-enter the numeric PIN then tap
    OK
    .
  6. Tap the
    Lock screen notifications switch
     to turn on Switch on or off Switch off.
  7. Tap
    Hide content
     to turn on or off.
  8. Tap
    Notifications to show
     then select the preferred option (Alert and silent notifications, Alert notifications only).
  9. Tap the
    Back icon
     Back icon (upper-left) to return to the previous screen.
  10. If prompted to back up your PIN, tap 'Agree' or 'Cancel'.

Password

A password is created to access the device.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Lock screen
    .
  3. Tap
    Screen lock type
    .
    If presented, enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
  4. Enter a password (at least 4 characters, including at least one letter) then tap
    Continue
    .
  5. Re-enter the password then tap
    OK
    .
  6. Tap the
    Lock screen notifications switch
     to turn on Switch on or off Switch off.
  7. Tap
    Hide content
     to turn on or off.
  8. Tap
    Notifications to show
     then select the preferred option (Alert and silent notifications, Alert notifications only).
  9. Tap the
    Back icon
     Back icon (upper-left) to return to the previous screen.
  10. If prompted to back up your password, tap 'Agree' or 'Cancel'.

Disable Screen Lock

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Lock screen
    .
  3. Tap
    Screen lock type
    .
    If presented, enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
  4. Tap 'None' or 'Swipe'.
  5. If prompted, tap
    Remove Data
     then tap
    Remove
     to confirm.
