Samsung Galaxy Z Flip5 - Set Up Fingerprint Recognition

Here's how to set up fingerprint recognition on your Galaxy Z Flip5.
  • A fingerprint is utilized to unlock the device.
  • For the fingerprint scanner to operate, hands must be clean and free of moisture, dirt, oil, lotion, dyes, etc.
  • Up to 4 fingerprints can be registered on the device.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Security and privacy
    .
  3. Tap
    Biometrics
    .
  4. Tap
    Fingerprints
    .
  5. Enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
    If no screen lock is active, follow the on-screen prompts to enable a screen lock option (e.g., pattern, PIN or password).
  6. Review the info then tap
    Continue
    .
  7. Follow the on-screen tutorial to scan your fingerprint.
    Repeat as needed until the process is complete.
  8. Tap
    Done
    (lower-right).
  9. If prompted to turn on Remote unlock, review the info then tap 'Turn on' or 'Cancel'.
    You must be signed in to your Samsung account to use Remote unlock.
  10. Tap the
    Fingerprint unlock switch
     to turn on Switch on or off Switch off.
