TCL TAB 8 Plus - Enable / Disable App

Here's how to turn pre-installed apps on your TAB 8 Plus on or off.
Some apps that come pre-installed (e.g., calculator, Google Play™ Store, Verizon Cloud, etc.) on your Android™ device can't be uninstalled; however, they can be disabled (turned off) so they don't appear in the list of apps on your device.
The option to enable or disable an app may only be available for apps that can't be uninstalled.

Enable App

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access the apps screen.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Apps
    .
  3. If necessary, tap
    View all 'xx' apps
    .
  4. Tap the
    ALL APPS dropdown menu
     Dropdown menu icon then select
    DISABLED APPS
    .
    The dropdown menu is only available if apps were previously disabled.
    If system apps aren't visible, tap the
    Menu icon
     Menu icon (upper-right) then tap
    Show system
    .
  5. Tap the appropriate app.
  6. Tap
    ENABLE
    .

Disable App

Disabling an app may cause related apps to function improperly.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access the apps screen.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Apps
    .
  3. If necessary, tap
    View all 'xx' apps
    .
  4. If available, tap the
    dropdown menu
     Dropdown menu icon at the top then select
    ALL APPS
    .
    The dropdown menu is only available if apps were previously disabled.
    If system apps aren't visible, tap the
    Menu icon
     Menu icon (upper-right) then tap
    Show system
    .
  5. Tap the appropriate app.
  6. Tap
    DISABLE
    .
    If the Disable option isn't available, navigate:
    FORCE STOP
    OK
    .
