TCL 40 XE 5G - Set Up Fingerprint Recognition

Here's how to set up fingerprint recognition on your TCL 40 XE 5G.
  • A fingerprint is utilized to unlock the device.
  • For the fingerprint scanner to operate, hands must be clean and free of moisture, dirt, oil, lotion, dyes, etc.
  • Up to 3 fingerprints can be registered on the device.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access the apps screen.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Security & biometrics
    .
  3. From the Device security section, tap
    Screen lock
    .
  4. Tap the
    Fingerprint switch
     to turn on Switch on or off Switch off.
  5. Enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
    If no screen lock is active, tap
    Continue
     and select a lock option (e.g., Pattern, PIN or Password) then follow the steps to complete the process.
    Refer to Enable / Disable / Modify Screen Lock for assistance.
  6. Follow the on-screen tutorial to scan your fingerprint. Repeat as necessary until the process is complete.
  7. Tap
    Done
     (lower-right).
