TCL 40 XE 5G - Manage Mobile / Wi-Fi Hotspot Settings

Here's how to configure Mobile / Wi-Fi Hotspot settings (e.g., password, network name, etc.) on your TCL 40 XE 5G.

Set Up Mobile Hotspot

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access all apps.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Connections
    Tethering & Mobile Hotspot
    .
  3. Tap
    Mobile Hotspot
    .
  4. Tap
    Set up Mobile Hotspot
    .
  5. From the Setup Mobile Hotspot screen, configure the following as needed:
    • Network name (SSID)
    • Security
      • None
      • WPA2-Personal
    • Show password
      Enabled when a checkmark is present.
    • Select AP Band
      • 2.4 GHz Band
      • 5 GHz Band
    • Maximum connections (e.g., 1 user, 8 users, etc.)
  6. Tap
    SAVE

Manage devices

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access all apps.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Connections
    Tethering & Mobile Hotspot
    .
  3. Tap
    Mobile Hotspot
    .
  4. From the 'CONNECTED USERS' section, tap
    BLOCK
     next to the device you want to disconnect.
    Up to 10 devices can connect to the Mobile Hotspot at one time.
    To remove the block, tap
    UNBLOCK
    next to the preferred device under the 'BLOCKED USERS' section.

  5. Select an option:
    • Never
    • 5 min
    • 10 min
    • 20 min
    • 30 min
    • 40 min
    • 50 min
    • 60 min
