TCL 40 XE 5G - Add a Wi-Fi Network

Here's how to connect your TCL 40 XE 5G to a Wi-Fi network.

Connect to an Available Wi-Fi Network

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access all apps.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Wi-Fi
    .
  3. Ensure the 'Use Wi-Fi' switch is in the on position Switch on.
  4. Tap the preferred network.
    If the preferred network isn't listed, it can be added manually.
  5. If presented, enter the appropriate password then tap
    CONNECT
    .
    To view the password as it is being entered, select (check)
    Show password
    .

Manually Connect to a Wi-Fi Network

Wi-Fi network info is required to complete several steps. Refer to the network admin for assistance.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access all apps.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Wi-Fi
    .
  3. Ensure the 'Use Wi-Fi' switch is in the on Switch on position.
  4. Tap
    Add network
     (at the bottom of list).
  5. From the Network name field, enter the appropriate name.
  6. From the Security field, tap the
    Dropdown menu icon
     .
  7. Tap the appropriate security option:
    If using an open network (None), skip to step 9.
    • None
    • WEP
    • WPA / WPA2 PSK
    • 802.1x EAP
    • Enhanced Open
    • WPA3-Personal
  8. From the 'Password' field, enter the appropriate password.
    To view the password as it is being entered, select (check)
    Show password
    .
  9. Ensure additional settings (e.g., EAP method, CA certificate, etc.) are configured appropriately (if applicable) then tap
    SAVE
     (lower-right).
