Content Transfer App - Transfer Content - Apple iPhone

Here's how to use the Verizon Content Transfer app on your Apple iPhone to transfer content between devices.
  • Any contacts or media backed up to a cloud service (e.g., Verizon Cloud, iCloud® , Google Drive, etc.) aren't transferred by the Content Transfer process and must be restored to your device using that service.
  • Content Transfer only transfers contacts, media, etc. to the new phone that hasn't already been backed up to a cloud service. To restore content from a Verizon Cloud backup, refer to Verizon Cloud - Apple® iPhone® - Restore Content.
  1. Ensure Wi-Fi is enabled on both phones (old and new).
  2. Open the
    Verizon Content Transfer app
     on both phones.
    If necessary, refer to Apple iPhone - Install Apps to install the Verizon Content Transfer app.

  3. If prompted, review the 'Heads-up' message then tap
    Got it
    .
  4. If prompted to allow Content Transfer access, tap 'OK' or 'Allow'.
  5. On both phones, review the info then tap
    Start Transfer
    .
  6. On the new phone, tap
    This is my new phone
     then tap
    Next
    .
  7. On the old phone, tap
    This is my old phone
     then tap
    Next
    .
  8. If prompted, review the 'Content Transfer' message then tap
    I understand
     on both phones.
  9. On each phone, tap the appropriate option then tap
    Next
    :
    • iPhone to iPhone
    • Other to iPhone
    • iPhone to Other
  10. Using the camera on the old phone, scan the
    QR code
     displayed on the screen of the new phone.
    If a phone name doesn't appear or you're using an older phone, tap
    Manual Setup
     to transfer via Wi-Fi.
  11. On the new phone, tap
    Accept
    .
  12. On the old phone, select the desired media (e.g., Contacts, Photos, Videos, etc.) to transfer to the new phone then tap
    Transfer
    .
    A progress meter displays during the transfer.
  13. When the transfer is finished, tap
    Done
     on both phones.
  14. From the 'Transfer Summary' screen, tap
    Done
    .

Transfer from the Old Device Using Wi-Fi

Ensure both phones (old and new) are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  1. Open the
    Verizon Content Transfer app
     on both phones.
    If necessary, refer to Apple iPhone - Install Apps to install the Verizon Content Transfer app.
  2. If prompted, review the 'Heads-up' message then tap
    Got it
    .
  3. If prompted to allow Content Transfer access, tap 'OK' or 'Allow'.
  4. On both phones, review the info then tap
    Start Transfer
    .
  5. On the new phone, tap
    This is my new phone
     then tap
    Next
    .
  6. On the old phone, tap
    This is my old phone
     then tap
    Next
    .
  7. If prompted, review the 'Content Transfer' message then tap
    I understand
     on both phones.
  8. On each phone, tap the appropriate option then tap
    Next
    :
    • iPhone to iPhone
    • Other to iPhone
    • iPhone to Other
  9. On both phones, tap
    Manual Setup
    .
  10. If prompted to connect the phones manually, on both phones, tap
    OK
    .
  11. On both phones, tap
    Start transfer
    .
  12. On the new phone, tap
    This is my new phone
     then tap
    Next
    .
  13. On the old phone, tap
    This is my old phone
     then tap
    Next
    .
  14. If presented with a Wi-Fi disconnect message, tap
    I understand
     (on both phones).
  15. On each phone, tap the appropriate option then tap
    Next
    :
    • iPhone to iPhone
    • Other to iPhone
    • iPhone to Other
  16. On the old phone, select the name of the new phone then tap
    Next
    .
    New phone name is displayed below the 'Peek at your other screen' message on the new phone.
  17. If prompted, tap
    Accept
     on the new phone from the 'Invitation to connect' message.
    If the invitation is not accepted within 30 seconds, the process must start over.
  18. On the old phone, select the desired media (e.g., Contacts, Photos, Videos, etc.) to transfer to the new phone then tap
    Transfer
    .
    Selected when a checkmark is present.
  19. When the transfer is finished, on both phones, tap
    Done
    .
