Google Pixel 7 / 7 Pro - View / Restrict Data Usage by App

Here's how to view / restrict the amount of data an app on your Pixel 7 / 7 Pro uses.
Some apps depend upon background data (transferring data when not directly in use). Restricting background data may cause those apps to stop functioning unless a Wi-Fi connection is available.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to display all apps.
  2. Do any of the following:
    • For mobile data usage:
      1. Navigate:
        Settings Settings icon
        Network & internet
        SIMs
        .
      2. Tap the
        SIM name
         (e.g., Verizon 1, etc).
      3. Tap
        App data usage
        .
    • For Wi-Fi data  usage:
      1. Navigate:
        Settings
        Network & internet
        Internet
        .
      2. Tap
        Non-carrier data usage
        .
        May require scrolling to the bottom of the page.
  3. Tap an app (located below the usage graph) then view the usage.
    To restrict the app from using data in the background, tap the
    Background data switch
     to turn off Settings icon.
  4. If presented, review the message then tap
    OK
    .
