SHARP ROUVO V - Enable / Disable / Modify Screen Lock

Here's how to set up, change or disable the screen lock option (e.g., password, pattern, etc.) for your ROUVO V.
  • If using Microsoft® Exchange / Corporate sync, some screen lock options may be unavailable.
    • These steps can also be utilized to change the current screen lock setting on your ROUVO V.

Pattern

An unlock pattern is created to access the device.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up from the bottom of the display to access the apps screen.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Lock screen & security
    Select Screen lock
    .
    If prompted to add a Google™ account:
    1. Tap Add Google account now to set up an account.
    2. Tap
      Continue
       to proceed without setting up an account.
      If presented, enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
  3. Tap
    Pattern
    .
  4. Select an option then tap
    Continue
    :
    • Require pattern to turn on phone
    • No, thanks
  5. Draw an unlock pattern (connecting at least 4 dots) then tap
    Next
    .
  6. Draw the same pattern again then tap
    Confirm
    .
  7. If prompted, tap one of the following then tap
    OK
    :
    • Show all notifications
    • Hide sensitive notification content
    • Hide all notifications

PIN

A numeric PIN is created to access the device.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up from the bottom of the display to access the apps screen.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Lock screen & security
    Select Screen lock
    .
    If prompted to add a Google™ account:
    1. Tap Add Google account now to set up an account.
    2. Tap
      Continue
       to proceed without setting up an account.
      If presented, enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
  3. From the 'Secure start-up' screen, tap YES or NO.
  4. If presented with the PIN policy screen, tap
    OK
    .
  5. Enter a numeric PIN (4 to 16 digits) then tap
    NEXT
    .
  6. Re-enter the numeric PIN then tap
    OK
    .
  7. If presented, select an option then tap
    DONE
     (lower-right):
    • Show all notification content
    • Hide sensitive notification content
    • Don't show notifications at all

Password

An alphanumeric password is created to access the device.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up from the bottom of the display to access the apps screen.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Lock screen & security
    Select Screen lock
    .
    If prompted to add a Google™ account:
    1. Tap Add Google account now to set up an account.
    2. Tap
      Continue
       to proceed without setting up an account.
      If presented, enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
  3. From the 'Secure start-up' screen, tap YES or NO.
  4. If presented with the Password policy screen, tap
    OK
    .
  5. Enter a password (4 to 16 characters) then tap
    NEXT
    .
  6. Re-enter the password then tap
    OK
    .
  7. If presented, select an option then tap
    DONE
     (lower-right):
    • Show all notification content
    • Hide sensitive notification content
    • Don't show notifications at all

Disable Screen Lock

  1. From a Home screen, swipe up from the bottom of the display to access the apps screen.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Lock screen & security
    Select Screen lock
    .
    If prompted to add a Google™ account:
    1. Tap Add Google account now to set up an account.
    2. Tap
      Continue
       to proceed without setting up an account.
      If presented, enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
  3. Tap 'None' or 'Swipe'.
  4. To confirm, tap
    Delete
    .
