Here's how to create and send a text message from your Galaxy Watch5 / Galaxy Watch5 Pro.
From your Android™ smartphone, ensure your Galaxy Watch5 / Galaxy Watch5 Pro software is up to date as the steps below apply to the most recent version.
  1. From the watch screen, swipe up to open the apps screen.
    Swipe up from Home screen
  2. Tap the
    Messages icon
     Messages icon.
  3. Tap the
    New Message icon
     Messages icon (at the top).
  4. Do one of the following:
    • To select a contact:
      1. Tap the
        Contacts icon
         Contacts icon.
      2. Tap the preferred contact.
    • To enter a 10-digit mobile number:
      As the number or contact is entered, a matching contact may appear and can be selected at any time.
      1. Tap the
        Keypad icon
         Keypad Icon.
      2. Enter the 10-digit number then tap the
        Checkmark icon
        .
  5. Do one of the following:
    • Use Voice Service to create text:
      1. Tap the
        Voice icon
         Voice icon.
        If necessary, review the Privacy Policy then tap
        Next
        .
        If prompted, allow to access the microphone.
      2. Speak your message then tap the
        Send icon
         Send icon.
    • Send an Emoji:
      1. Tap the
        Emoji icon
         .
      2. Tap the desired emoji then tap the
        Send icon
        .
    • Type a Message:
      1. Tap the Message field.
      2. Swipe up from the bottom of the watch face to change the text input method (e.g., Write text by hand, keypad, numbers, etc.) then enter a message.
      3. Tap the
        Send icon
        .
