Google Pixel 6a - Manage Mobile / Wi-Fi Hotspot Settings

Here's how to configure Mobile / Wi-Fi Hotspot Settings (e.g., password, network name, etc.) on your Pixel 6a.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to display all apps.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Network & internet
    Hotspot & tethering
    .
  3. Tap
    Wi-Fi hotspot
    .
  4. Tap
    Use Wi-Fi hotspot
     then tap to turn on Switch on.
  5. From the Wi-Fi hotspot screen, set up the following.
    • Hotspot name
    • Security
      • WPA3-Personal
      • WPA2/WPA3-Personal
      • WPA2/-Personal
      • None
        If presented with a Warning screen, tap
        Continue
        .
    • Hotspot password
  6. Tap
    Turn off hotspot automatically
     to turn on Switch on or off Switch off.
  7. Tap
    Extend compatibility
     to turn on Switch on or off Switch off.
    When turned on, this setting:
    • helps other devices find this hotspot.
    • increases battery usage.
