Here's how to ensure your Gmail, contacts, apps, etc. are backed up on your motorola edge+ 5G UW.
If you need to back up data (e.g., app data, SMS text messages, device settings, etc.) on your motorola edge+ 5G UW using your Google™ account, follow these step-by-step instructions.
Backups can't be restored from a higher Android™ version onto a phone with a lower Android version.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access all apps.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    System

  3. Tap
    Backup
    .
  4. Tap the
    Backup by Google One switch
     to turn on Switch on or off Switch off.
    If disabled, existing backups are deleted from Google's servers.
  5. From the Account storage field, ensure you list the appropriate account (email address).
    You must enable 'Backup by Google One' to view account.
    To change accounts:
    1. Tap
      Account storage
      .
    2. Tap the preferred account.
      Tap
      Add account
       to add an existing Google account.
    3. Review the 'Backup by Google One' message then tap
      OK
      .
    4. If prompted to change other backup accounts (e.g., photos & videos account, etc.), review the message then tap 'Dismiss' or 'Change'.
When a Google account is added to your phone, previous backups are restored. This can be done by signing in to the same Google account while setting up your new or reset phone.
