Samsung Galaxy A13 - Set Up Face Recognition

Here's how to set up a facial recognition scan to access your Galaxy A13.
  • Facial recognition is utilized to unlock the device.
  • For optimal performance, ensure you are indoors or away from direct sunlight.
  • If synced to a corporate exchange account, the availability of this option is dependent upon the policies of your IT admin.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Security and privacy
    Biometrics
    .
  3. Tap
    Face Recognition
    .
    If presented, enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
  4. If presented with the 'More about face recognition' screen, review the info than tap
    Continue
    .
  5. Perform one of the following:
    • For first time setup:
      1. If presented, select a lock screen option (e.g., Pattern, PIN or Password) then follow the steps to complete the process.
        If necessary, refer to Enable / Disable / Modify Screen Lock for assistance.
      2. While holding the phone 8-20 inches away, position your face within the square displayed on-screen.
      3. Tap the
        Stay on Lock screen until swipe
         to turn on Switch on or off Switch off then tap
        Done
         (at the bottom).
      4. From the 'Face recognition' menu, tap the switch(es) to turn each option on or off then tap
        OK
         (at the bottom).
        • Face unlock
          : When on, device unlocks with a recognized face.
        • Stay on Lock screen until swipe
          : Once unlocked, remain on the lock screen until you swipe.
        • Require open eyes
          : For added security, only recognize your face when your eyes are open.
        • Brighten screen
          : Temporarily increases screen brightness to improve facial recognition in the dark.
    • To remove face data:
      1. From the 'Face recognition' menu, tap
        Remove face data
        .
      2. To confirm, review the disclaimer then tap
        Remove
