Messages by Google - Create and Send a Text Message

Here's how to create and send a text message via the Messages by Google app on your Android smartphone.
  1. Open the
    Messages
     Messages icon app.
  2. From the Inbox, tap
    Start chat
     (lower-right).
  3. From the To field, enter a 10-digit mobile number or a contact name.
    As the number or contact is entered, a matching contact may appear and can be selected at any time.
  4. From the Text message field, enter a message.
    To add an attachment perform one of the following:
    1. Tap the
      Add icon
       Add icon to attach a file, GIF, or contact.
    2. Tap the
      Photo/Camera icon
       Add icon to attach a new or saved photo.
  5. Tap the
    Send icon
     Send icon (lower-right).
