Samsung Messages - Text Message Notification Settings

Here's how to turn text message notifications on or off via the Samsung Messages app.
Ensure your apps are up to date as the following steps apply to the most recent version.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
  2. Tap
    Messages
     Messages icon.
  3. Tap the
    Menu icon
     Menu icon (middle-right).
  4. Tap
    Settings
    .
  5. Tap
    Notifications
    .
  6. Tap the
    Show notification switch
     to turn on Switch on icon or off Switch off icon.
  7. From the Alerts section select the desired option:
    Selected when a dot is present.
    • Allow sound and vibration
    • Deliver quietly
  8. Tap the
    App icon badges switch
     to turn on or off.
  9. Tap
    In-app notification settings
    .
  10. Tap the
    Preview new messages switch
     to turn on or off.
    When on, a preview of new messages appear on the lock screen and in pop-ups.
  11. Tap the
    Back icon
     Back icon (upper-left) to return to the App notification screen.
  12. Tap
    Notification categories
    .
  13. Tap the following switches to turn notifications on or off for each:
    • Foreground syncs
    • General notifications
    • New messages
      If eSIM is enabled, tap the appropriate switch to turn new message notifications on or off.
