Samsung Galaxy Tab S8+ 5G - Set Up Fingerprint Recognition

Here's how to set up fingerprint recognition on your Galaxy Tab S8+ 5G.
  • A fingerprint is utilized to unlock the device.
  • For the fingerprint scanner to operate, hands must be clean and free of moisture, dirt, oil, lotion, dyes, etc.
  • Up to 3 fingerprints can be registered on the device.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up from the center of the display to access the apps screen.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Security and privacy
    .
  3. From the Security section, tap
    Biometrics
    .
  4. Tap
    Fingerprints
    .
  5. Enter the current PIN, password, or pattern.
    If no screen lock is active, tap
    Continue
    , select a lock option (e.g., Pattern, PIN or Password) then follow the steps to complete the process.
    Refer to Enable / Disable / Modify Screen Lock for assistance.
  6. Review the info then tap
    Continue
    .
  7. Review the instructions then tap
    Register
    .
  8. Follow the on-screen prompts to scan your fingerprint and repeat as necessary until the process is complete.
  9. Tap
    Done
     (lower-right).
  10. Tap the
    Fingerprint unlock switch
     to turn on Switch on or off Switch off.
