Windows 11 - Edit Access Point Name (APN)

Here's how to configure the APNs your Windows 11 device can use.
Changing the Access Point Name (APN) may affect the performance and internet connectivity of the device. Contact your local IT administrator prior to altering this setting.
If your device isn't running Windows® 11, refer to the Windows 10 instructions.
  1. From the Windows desktop, navigate:
    Start Start menu icon
    Settings
    Network Settings & internet
     (left-panel).
  2. Tap or click
    Cellular
    .
  3. From the 'More cellular settings' section, tap or click
    Mobile operator settings
    .
  4. Perform one of the following:
    • Tap or click
      Add APN
       to create a new APN.
    • Tap or click an existing APN to Apply, Edit, or Delete.

LTE Access Point Name (APN) Definitions

  • vzwims
    : Used for connections to IMS services. Required for TXT messaging.
  • vzwadmin
    : Used for administrative functions.
  • vzwinternet
    : Required for general Internet connections.
  • vzwapp
    : Required for PDA data service
  • vzwcf
    : Used for connections that must be routed through content filtering.
  • xx.vzwentp
    : Used for connections to mobile private networks.
    'xx' would be replaced by the enterprise MPN identifier.
  • xx.vzwstatic
    : Used for static IP connections.
    'xx' would be replaced by the appropriate static IP pool identifier.
