MOTOROLA EDGE 5G UW - Set Up Fingerprint Recognition

Here's how to set up fingerprint recognition on your motorola edge 5G UW.
  • A fingerprint is utilized to unlock the device.
  • For the fingerprint scanner to operate, hands must be clean and free of moisture, dirt, oil, lotion, dyes, etc.
  • Up to 5 fingerprints can be registered on the device.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up from the middle to display all apps.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Security & privacy

  3. Tap
    Device lock
     then tap
    Fingerprint
    .
    If presented, enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
  4. If presented with 'Choose screen lock', tap an option:
    Refer to Enable / Disable / Modify Screen Lock for assistance.
    • Fingerprint + Pattern
    • Fingerprint + PIN
    • Fingerprint + Password
  5. Read the warning, then tap
    Set up
    .
  6. Place your finger on the sensor until it vibrates then lift.
    Repeat this step as necessary until the process is complete.
    For greater accuracy, finger placement should vary slightly each time.
  7. Tap 'Done' or 'Add another'.
  8. From the 'Easy shortcuts' screen, tap

    Tap
    Not now
     to return to fingerprint screen.
    If presented enter screen lock.
