Samsung Galaxy Tab A7 Lite - Set Up Face Recognition

Here's how to set up a facial recognition scan to access your Galaxy Tab A7 Lite.

Facial recognition is utilized to unlock the device.

For optimal performance, ensure you are indoors or away from direct sunlight.

If synced to a corporate exchange account, the availability of this option is dependent upon the policies of your IT admin.

From a Home screen, swipe up from the center of the display to access the apps screen.

Navigate:

Settings

Security and privacy

Biometrics

Tap

Face Recognition

If presented, enter the current PIN, password or pattern.

Perform one of the following:

For first time setup:

If presented, select a lock screen option (e.g., pattern, PIN or password) then follow the steps to complete the process.

If necessary, refer to Enable / Disable / Modify Screen Lock for assistance.

Review the 'Face recognition' message then tap

Continue

While holding the tablet 8-20 inches away, position your face within the circle displayed on-screen.

From the 'Face recognition' menu, tap the switch (es) to turn each option on Switch on

or off

Face unlock

When on, device unlocks with a recognized face.

Stay on Lock screen until swipe

Once unlocked, remain on the lock screen until you swipe.

Brighten screen

Temporarily increases screen brightness to improve facial recognition in the dark.

To remove face data:

From the 'Face recognition' menu, tap

Remove face data
