Samsung Galaxy A12 - Set Up Fingerprint Recognition

Here's how to setup fingerprint lock for your Galaxy A12.
  • A fingerprint is utilized to unlock the device.
  • For the fingerprint scanner to operate, hands must be clean and free of moisture, dirt, oil, lotion, dyes, etc.
  • Up to 3 fingerprints can be registered on the device.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access the apps screen.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Biometrics and security
    .
  3. Tap
    Fingerprints
    .
  4. Enter the current PIN, password or pattern then tap
    Continue
    .
    If no screen lock is active, set up a screen lock (e.g., pattern, PIN or password).
  5. Follow the on-screen tutorial to scan your fingerprint.
    Repeat this step as necessary until the process is complete.
  6. Tap
    Done
    (lower-right).
  7. Tap the
    Fingerprint unlock switch
     to turn on Switch on or off Switch off.
