Samsung Galaxy A12 - Enable / Disable / Modify SIM PIN

Here's how to change the SIM PIN for your Galaxy A12 or turn it on or off.

Enabling the Subscriber Identity Module (SIM) Personal Identification Number (PIN) locks the SIM card so it can't be used until the correct code is entered.

If the incorrect PIN code is entered too many times, refer to the following to obtain a new PIN Unblocking Key (PUK):

Standard service
: obtain the PUK via the My Verizon website.

Prepaid service
: contact customer service to obtain the PUK.

From a Home screen, swipe up to access the apps screen.

Navigate: Settings
Settings icon

Biometrics and security

Tap

Other security settings

Tap

Set up SIM card lock

If unavailable, ensure a SIM card is properly inserted.

Tap the

Lock SIM card switch

to turn on Switch on icon

or off

To change your SIM PIN, ensure the switch is turned on then do the following:

Tap

Change SIM card PIN

Enter the current SIM PIN (current SIM PIN) then tap

The default SIM PIN is 1111.

Enter the new SIM PIN then tap

Re-enter the new SIM PIN then tap

Enter the current SIM PIN then tap
