moto g power - Add a Virtual Private Network

Here's how to add a virtual private network (VPN) to your moto g power.
A virtual private network (VPN) encrypts your internet traffic and protects your online identity via a secured remote server and is most commonly used when remotely accessing company systems (e.g., company email, intranet sites, etc.).
Contact the VPN admin for assistance with server info and credentials.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to access all apps.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings
     Settings icon >
    Network & internet
     >
    Advanced
    .
  3. Tap
    VPN
    .
  4. Tap the
    Add icon
     Add icon (upper-right).
  5. If presented with a lock screen notification, tap
    SET LOCK
    .
    Refer to Enable / Disable / Modify Screen Lock (Pattern, PIN or Password only) for assistance.
  6. From the Name field, enter the appropriate name.
    Contact the VPN admin for assistance with server info and credentials.
  7. From the Type field, PPP encryption (MPPE) is checked by default. If another encryption type is preferred, tap the
    Dropdown menu
     Drop down menu icon (on the right) then select the VPN type:
    • PPTP
    • L2TP/IPSec PSK
    • L2TP/IPSec RSA
    • IPSec Xauth PSK
    • IPSec Xauth RSA
    • IPSec Hybrid RSA
    • IKEv2/IPSec MSCHAPv2
    • IKEv2/IPSec PSK
    • IKEv2/IPSec RSA
  8. If applicable, tap
    Show advanced options
     to configure the following:
    The available options vary depending upon the selected VPN type.
    • DNS search domains
    • DNS servers
    • Forwarding routes
    • Proxy
    • Username
    • Password
  9. Enter the required info into the applicable fields then tap
    Save
     (lower-right).
