Pixel 5 - Set Up Fingerprint Recognition

Here's how to set up fingerprint recognition on your Pixel 5.
  • A fingerprint is utilized to unlock the device.
  • For the fingerprint scanner to operate, hands must be clean and free of moisture, dirt, oil, lotion, dyes, etc.
  • Up to 5 fingerprints can be registered on the device.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to display all apps.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Security & privacy
    Device unlock
    .
  3. Tap
    Pixel Imprint
    .
    If prompted, enter the current PIN, password, or pattern.
    If necessary, refer to Enable / Disable / Modify Screen Lock for assistance.
  4. Review the message then tap
    I agree
    .
    If necessary, swipe up to review additional services.
  5. Using on-screen prompts as a guide, lightly tap the
    fingerprint sensor
     on the back of your device multiple times to scan your fingerprint.
  6. When finished, tap 'Done' or 'Add Another' to continue adding fingerprints.
