Pixel 4a 5G UW - Set Up Fingerprint Recognition

Here's how to set up fingerprint recognition on your Pixel 4a 5G UW.
  • A fingerprint is utilized to unlock the device.
  • For the fingerprint scanner to operate, hands must be clean and free of moisture, dirt, oil, lotion, dyes, etc.
  • Up to 5 fingerprints can be registered on the device.
  • Ensure a secure lock type (PIN, pattern, etc.) has been set up before following the steps below. Turning off the secure lock also turns off Pixel Imprint.
  1. From a Home screen, swipe up to display all apps.
  2. Navigate:
    Settings Settings icon
    Security & privacy
    Device unlock
    .
  3. Tap
    Pixel Imprint
    .
  4. Enter the current PIN, password or pattern.
  5. Review the message then tap
    I agree
    .
  6. Using on-screen prompts as a guide, lightly tap the
    fingerprint sensor
     on the back of your device multiple times to scan your fingerprint.
  7. When finished, tap 'Done' or 'Add Another' to continue adding fingerprints.
